Recently SNP Security hosted an internal workshop aimed at improving leadership skills and employee engagement. The primary focus of the agenda was around emotional intelligence in leadership and how it can help you to become more engaged and better connected to teams, managers and peers.
The ‘Your Future Starts Now’ leadership development program brought together over 35 promising SNP individuals, across different levels and divisions of the business. Participants were selected following nominations from their department managers and the submission of written applications.
When asked about the success of the two-day event, Managing Director Tom Roche said, “We wanted to develop a program that shone some light on some of our high achieving team members, those who demonstrate SNP’s values every day, whether it’s on the frontline or behind the scenes. I thought this was an extremely productive workshop, which will help forge a strong path for SNP’s top performing employees.”
The workshop focused on two key areas, “Knowing and Managing Myself” and “Relating to Others”. These program streams addressed factors including personal development as a leader, leading a healthy and balanced life and improving the ability to manage relationships with others.
The event featured external speakers who held sessions on communicating with professional presence and health management. Several of SNP’s senior managers also spoke of their personal leadership and experiences including GM of Services, Craig Millar and GM of People & Partner Strategy, Darlene Winston.
