We are extremely proud of Emir Balicevac and Gary Jannese, who were two of only five recipients of the Australian Security Valour Medal 2015 (ASVM) , awarded by the Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF).
The ASVM recognises outstanding acts of valour and courage above and beyond ‘the call of duty’. Each of these highly trained SNP Officers truly encompass SNP’s number one value of safety. Their outstanding bravery and courage earned them the ASVM for their brave and composed judgement when dealing with a heavily intoxicated, armed young man who was trying to harm himself in a densely populated area at The University of Sydney. The Officers showed compassion and calmly talked the young man into lowering his weapon, disarming him when it was safe to do so.
The award reflects the values that are encouraged within the SNP culture which fosters a Safety First philosophy for all SNP employees. The Australian family-owned company is committed to regular and rigorous training to ensure the highest safety standards are adhered to at all times. These foundations combined with the courage of Emir and Gary ensured everyone walked away safely.
SNP’s contemporary culture drives its people and business forward and we will continue to encourage and assist our employees to realise their personal and professional goals – Emir Balicevac and Gary Jannese are great examples of SNP’s quality frontline team.
