Yesterday Wednesday 24th June, was our Annual SNP Conference, where we were joined by over 150 passionate SNP team members. The day started with an address from SNP’s Managing Director Tom Roche, who shed some light on what the company has achieved over the last 12 months and its aim for FY16.
“It’s been exactly one year to the day that we announced the merge between the Electronics Division of SNP Security and Telstra to form Telstra SNP Monitoring (TSM). We’re very proud of the joint venture and what it means for our customers, combining Telstra’s industry leading expertise and innovation with SNP’s 92 years’ experience in the Australian protective services industry,” said Roche.
The morning then progressed with awards and presentations from the newly formed Senior Management Group including Mike Day – Aviation, Craig Millar – Services, Richard Purchas – Technology, Darlene Winston – People & Culture, Brian Foster – Corporate Affairs and Bill Mason – Chief Financial Officer.
We would like to congratulate all of our award winners again;
Gold Award Winner: Harry Mavromatis – Sydney Aviation
Harry was nominated for his bravery and teamwork, when he provided timely first aid assistance to a passenger who had suffered a possible heart attack and conducted CPR at the crucial moment, saving the person’s life.
Silver Award Winner, Brad Gorman – Protective Services
Brad was nominated for his dedication to our customers. Early this year Brad, in his own time, attended a high level event held by Brisbane City Council, which involved the QLD Premier and Prime Minister, Tony Abbot. SNP received rave reviews from both the client and the AFP, for Brad’s outstanding effort on the day and the extensive security planning that went into the event.
Bronze Award Winner, Ourimbah University team; Nathan Rakete, Kerry Long, Evan Lewis, Tim McDonald, Darrin Murley and Douglas Kearney
Another nomination for delivering the unexpected to our customers. The team went above and beyond during the April storms on the Central Coast. The Ourimbah campus was shut down for a week due to flooding, fallen trees and there was no electricity or phone connections. The SNP team worked around the clock with the university to have the campus up and running again, at a time when their own homes were suffering the impact form the storm.
After a great morning session of strategy presentations, awards presentations and a lovely lunch, the afternoon ended with a series of plenary sessions on the SNP values, Safety, Customer Experience and an innovative Technology Hub followed by drinks and a magician !
It was a great conference – lots of learning, laughter and recognition for everyone’s hard work and dedication over the last 12 months. Looking forward to gearing up for FY16!
