SNP are committed and continues to focus on helping the Australian community. This year, our Managing Director, Tom Roche, has again whole heartedly committed himself to raising awareness and much need funds for young Australians in need, by participating in The Smith Family Challenge.
Since 2008, The Smith Family Challenge has pushed individuals to their limits to raise money for education programs and support over 1000 disadvantaged children. Over the years the event has transformed into a 100km, 2-day, adventure race like no other.
Tom has personally dedicated himself to the cause since 2010, competing in his 7th Challenge this year, making him the longest return challenger and raising over an astonishing $100,000 to date for The Smith Family.
This year the event was held in the beautiful Blue Mountains, bringing in a record number of challengers – 60 individuals and 15 teams. Fundraising began in January and already has achieved a record breaking $633,000!
In addition to taking on the physical aspects of the Challenge, Tom will also be making a $2,000 personal contribution, meaning 100% of all funds raised will go directly to The Smith Family.
With fundraising now over for the year, the team raised a total of $46,631.00. Their donation page can be found here.
The Smith Family is a national, independent, children’s charity helping young Australians in need get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
