Well done to two SNP Security staff members who have been recognised for their swift and professional response to a passenger’s injury as a result of a fall in the T2 Coach Bays. Thank you to both Sam and Abeed for your quick response and demonstrating the SNP values.
On Saturday afternoon, 4 ladies all aged in their 80’s had just arrived at T2 by coach from Bermagui on the NSW South Coast, where they were due to spend the night before continuing with their flight the next morning.
As they were making their way to the shuttle bus for the hotel one of the ladies had an unfortunate and nasty fall at the coach bays. Within 2 mins, SNP Security Officers Sam and Abeed were on the scene both with first aid kits attending to the fallen lady. She suffered several lacerations to her face, arms and legs and both were comforting her and dressing her wounds in a calm and caring manner.
When our client and the Duty Manager arrived on the scene a few minutes later, they were able to leave Sam and Abeed to look after the patient and focus on assisting her distressed companions, arranging for NSW Ambulance to attend and also get representatives from the airline to assist with ensuring their travel the following day would be smooth and comfortable.
Both SNP employees were commended for their assistance in taking control of the situation and tending to the lady’s wounds by both the client and NSW Ambulance officers on the scene.
Helen Boyd, Manager Sydney Airport Security, presented Sam with his Service Star Award at T2 on 9 June. Abeed was recognised in a separate presentation ceremony on 15 July.
