NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements. In celebration, Corroboree SNP held afternoon tea inspired by traditional Indigenous food at the Department of Finance in Canberra.
The event also marked the commencement of Corroboree SNP’s newly appointed position at the Department of Finance, and the reveal of the Corroboree SNP uniforms. As part of a special collaboration, the uniform tie features artwork commissioned by renowned Aboriginal Artist – Dale Huddleston.
Attendees of the afternoon tea were joined by William Tompkins – Indigenous writer of songs and stories from the Ngunawal/Wiradjuri Clans of NSW and ACT, who performed ‘Welcome to Country’. The Departmental Secretary, Rosemary Huxtable, also addressed the group.
In honour of NAIDOC Week, Corroboree SNP donated $500 to Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation. Gugan Gulwan regularly work with the community and service providers to enhance the well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders youth in the ACT and surrounding regions.
Corroboree SNP is an exciting joint venture between SNP Security and Corroboree Services Group – an Australian Supply Nation Organisation with over 40 years’ experience in the Indigenous Community. Our partnership widens the accessibility of job opportunities within the security sector. Together, we are committed to ensuring sustainable change and excited to be creating meaningful partnerships and positive working relationships.
