At SNP, safety is our number one value and priority. We highly regard our Work Health & Safety Management System (WHSMS) as an integral part of our service provision to our customers. Our WHS team is headed by the National Manager WHS who leads a team of WHS Advisors across the country.
Safety practices are always evolving, so we continually revise our safety strategy to ensure we are fostering a culture of continuous improvement. We understand that our clients require a high focus on injury and incident prevention through a proactive and methodical approach. Our managers, supervisors and operational staff have a suite of safety management tools to assist them to deliver a quality safety service at the operational face.
Our three year safety strategy A Fresh Pair of Eyes, further enhances and embeds safety within our business. A key element of the strategy was a full review of our safety management system. SNP are now nationally certified for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems AS/NZ 4801 and the globally recognised British Standard Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series OHSAS 18001:2007. These certifications are yet another validation of SNP’s commitment to the reduction of work-related injuries and best practice.
Our WHS Management System has effectively demonstrated our commitment to these prescribed safety thresholds through relevant and frequently updated safety policies and procedures. This achievement is continuously reviewed with SNP undertaking frequent surveillance and auditing by internal and external auditors.
SNP’s Safe Work Method and Environment Statements (SWMES), Hazard Registers, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Site Standing Orders (SSO) are continually reviewed and updated to reflect site specific requirements and improvements. SNP enforce best practice safety initiatives and heavily invest in awareness training and guidelines for all levels of the business to ensure our policies and procedures are effectively implemented nationally, on every site.
