SNP Security ensures Securitel Solutions meet expectations

SNP Security has been conducting trials of various alarm monitoring networks to establish the
best replacement options for the Telstra Securitel* alarm monitoring network, which is due to be decommissioned in December 2009.
SNP Security has chosen the three top performing platforms which will meet market requirements and expectations from the extensive range of products currently available on the market.
The issue to consider was not only to replace the existing network, but to ensure that the new Australian Standards, standard 2201-5 on alarm transmission signals, were also met.
All three have been installed in SNP’s state-of-the-art Grade A1 monitoring centre in West Ryde and each utilise all of the common transmission paths available: Ethernet, dial-up ISP, GPRS, PSTN and GSM.
SNP Security Managing Director, Tom Roche sought to thoroughly test each replacement solution to ensure clients the best alarm monitoring network available to those affected customers.
“The alarm monitoring network underpins the essence of remote security transmission. In order to ensure the integrity of this crucial link, and offer our clients a choice, we installed only what we considered to be the best solutions on the market,” says Tom.
The new platforms enhance the integrity of the monitoring network due to the selected solutions utilising multiple path transmissions which ensure that an alarm system can still remain functioning and report a genuine alarm event even if the original transmission path has failed.
“The industry is raising the benchmark in the provision of security, which is positive for the general public and business sectors,” says Tom.
